Cookie Policy
Last updated: 5 June 2026
This page explains the cookies and similar browser storage that WhereHaveISeenThem uses. For the wider picture of how we handle data, see the Privacy Policy.
What we use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
age_consent | First-party cookie · functional | Remembers that you confirmed you are 18 or older, so the age prompt isn't shown again. | 1 year |
_ga, _ga_YTZFCQJ019 | Third-party cookie · analytics (Google) | Set by Google Analytics 4 to measure how the site is used. | ~2 years |
cf_* (Cloudflare Turnstile) | Third-party cookie · security | Set by Cloudflare Turnstile only on the contact page to run the anti-bot check. Not used for tracking. | Session / short-lived |
whist.bookmarks | First-party localStorage · functional | Stores the movies, shows, actors and searches you bookmark. Stays in your browser only. | Until you clear it |
whist.selectedActors | First-party localStorage · functional | Keeps the actors currently selected for a comparison. Stays in your browser only. | Until you clear it |
Analytics cookies and consent
The functional items above are needed for the site to remember your choices. The Google Analytics cookies are not essential — they are used only to understand aggregate usage. At the moment analytics load without a separate consent banner; if you would rather not be measured, you can block them as described below.
How to control cookies
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings (this also lets you remove
age_consent). - Clear this site's data to wipe the
localStoragebookmarks and selections. - Opt out of Google Analytics with the official opt-out add-on.
Blocking functional cookies and storage won't break the site, but the age prompt will reappear and your bookmarks and selections won't be remembered between visits.
Changes
